O Que Estreia Por Cá - De volta aos ringues
Depois do mundo ter ficado maravilhado com a obra prima de Clint Eastwood, foi a vez de Ron Howard se lançar nos ringues para contar mais um episódio do sonho americano. Cinderella Man é mais do que um filme de boxe, é um filme sobre a familia e a esperança.
No entanto é também um dos grandes flops do ano nos Estados Unidos. A Universal não percebeu ainda o porquê do falhanço de um filme, tipicamente americano e com um elenco oscarizado ao máximo. Mas a verdade é que, quem já viu, garante que este pode mesmo ser o melhor filme feito por Ron Howard até hoje. E porquê? Pelo dramatismo da narrativa, pela forma como é criado um paralelismo entre os dias dificeis do passado e os dias dificeis de hoje, e ainda, e como não podia deixar de ser, porque a quimica Howard-Crowe está lá, de novo, como esteve em A Beautiful Mind.
Russell Crowe que volta aos grandes desempenhos, liderando um elenco composto ainda por Paul Giamatti, Paddy Considine e ainda, aquela que é apontada unanmemente como o elo mais fraco do filme, Renneé Zellweger.
Um filme que se desenrola nos ringues, mas que não é sobre pugilismo. É sobre uma familia que tenta sobreviver, sobre um homem que só pedia por uma segunda oportunidade, num mundo onde isso parecia ser impossivel.
Há mais duas estreias esta semana.
The Final Cut foi falado no ano transacto, como uma boa rampa de lançamento de Robin Williams para o óscar que ele tanto quer, de tal forma que agora só aceita mesmo papeis tenebrosos. O filme ficou muito aquém do sucesso pretendido, ninguém se lembrou do majestoso desempenho de Williams e Portugal vai ter agora, um ano depois, a hipótese de tirar as dúvidas. Omar Naim dirige esta história negra.
Mais um slasher, desta vez o remake de um dos grandes sucessos do genero. The House of Wax conta com um elenco extremamente jovem, onde pontificam Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray e Paris Hilton, em mais uma incursão no cinema. Quando um grupo de jovens é forçado a parar numa vila no meio do nada, onde as peças de cera do museu local ganham vida, o terro começa.
O Hollywood Recomenda - Conta com um dos cinco melhores actores do mundo da actualidade, um argumento tipicamente all-american, e um elenco interessante. Cinderella Man pode ser dos filmes mais interessantes deste Verão.
O Hollywood Desaconselha - Depois do regresso do gore na semana passada, esta semana tivemos o regresso do slasher. O conselho é o mesmo (com todo o respeito para com este apreciador do genero). Não ver!
