Com presença em quase todas as categorias, The Constant Gardener parte à frente nesta corrida aos BAFTA´s, mas os britânicos terão dificuldade em ignorar o sucesso das obras norte-americanas, o que faz de Brokeback, de Philiph Seymour-Hoffman ou de Reese Whiterspoon também grandes favoritos.
Na categoria de melhor filme, Capote, Crash, Good Night and Good Luck., Brokeback Mountain e The Constant Gardener são os nomeados, enquanto que na lista dos cinco melhores filmes britânicos, voltamos a encontrar o filme de Meirelles, ao lado de The Cock and the Bully, Festival, Pride and Prejudice e Wallace and Gromitt.
Ang Lee, Fernando Meirelles, Paul Haggis, Benneth Miller e George Clooney são os nomeados para o prémio David Lean, entregue ao melhor realizador do ano.

Nas categorias de representação, Heath Ledger, Ralph Fiennes, Joaquin Phoenix, David Straiharn e Philiph Seymour-Hoffman disputam o prémio entre os actores, enquanto que Rachel Weisz, Reese Whiterspoon, Zhang Ziyi, Charlize Theron e Judi Dench são as nomeadas.
Nas categorias secundárias, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon e Jake Gyllenhall vão lutar contra George Clooney que conseguiu uma dupla-nomeação. Nas actrizes secundárias Michelle Williams, Brenda Blethynn, Catherine Keenar, Frances McDormand e Thandie Newton são as nomeadas.

Os prémios BAFTA serão entregues a 19 de Fevereiro.
